CHAPTER ONE
To mark the beginning and then embark at that exact point would be trying to use a science too precise for any measurable swing in character. Change is a shifty spy, a traitor without definition, a place where symptoms merge with causes, catalysts lie like mines, irrational saboteurs, yet lazy.
In a life such as mine, ordinary yet without tedium, one would have thought a node of change easy to locate, pinpoint accurately. Indeed, it might even have been highlighted by friends, relations, colleagues.
But it wasn’t.
